Sarangani Congressman Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao has arrived in Silliman University, in Dumaguete City , Negros Oriental, Philippines.
He’s the special guest of Silliman University’s College of Law during the founding anniversary. Jing Gacal, private lawyer and adviser of Pacquiao, was reportedly seen as well along with Pacquiao’s security personnel.

There are many ways to travel from Cebu to Dumaguete. You can travel from Cebu to Dumaguete by Air which takes about three hours if your flight is via Manila but if it is a direct flight from Cebu to Dumaguete it would only take about 15 to 25 minutes. The direct flights are in the morning the rest would be via Manila. Although a little expensive but it is more convenient. You can also take a trip by Sea which takes about seven hours. The boat usually leaves Cebu at night. In this way, you can sleep during the entire trip and arrive in Dumaguete the following morning.

Negros Oriental is accessible via air, and sea directly from Manila to Dumaguete. It is also accessible via land from different hubs across Central Visayas namely Bacolod and Cebu Island.
The provincial capital, Dumaguete City, has an airport and a sea port which are entry points for visitors from different points in the Philippines. For traveler’s guide, the airport has a tourist assistance desk that contains maps and other travel kits that are given for free. If you travel by sea you are advised to go to the Department of Tourism (DoT) at Quezon Park which is a one ride 7.50Php fare from the port where you can also avail free information and assistance. Another interesting event here in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines because Rep. Manny Pacquiao (Sarangani) will attend the 76th founding anniversary of Silliman University Law Alumni Association on Aug. 26, at the Moot Court, Villareal Hall, Silliman University.
This was confirmed by SULAW member Lester Nuique.
Nuique said Pacquiao’s words would inspire student lawyers or even professionals on how he rose from the ranks.
From an amateur, Pacquiao has become the number one boxer in the world holding eight championship belts, and then became a congressman of the Republic of the Philippines.

Negros Oriental – A province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. It occupies the south-eastern half of the island of Negros. Negros Oriental comprises of 6 cities and 19 towns. Dumaguete City is the provincial Capital and seat of government. Despite being the smallest city with regards to land area (33.62 sq. km), it is the most populous. Negros Oriental has a high simple literacy rate of 93.9% as of 2000 and 83.8% functional literacy rate as of 2000. The primary spoken language in Negros Oriental is Cebuano but can also speak and understand Tagalog and English.
