Buglasan Festival 2011

The preparations for the Negros Oriental’s Buglasan Festival of festivals this year, are underway with more than 50 events calendared for a two-week long celebration. The Buglasan Festival will commence on October 14 with daily activities and programs until October 23.

This year’s Buglasan Festival annual celebration banners the theme, “Working Together to Bring Negros Oriental Tourism to Greater Heights,” which the organizer is working doubly hard to make the province competitive and push the local tourism industry.

The 6th Buglasan Festival Cook Fest 2011

The Lutong Garbo Committee of Negros Oriental’s Buglasan Festival 2011 will hold the 6th cook fest on October 15 at the Provincial Agriculturist Office, along the North National Highway, Dumaguete City.

Committee chair Sylvia Uy of the Lutong Garbo has announced that the Provincial Tourism Office is still accepting entries from different local government units (LGUs) of the province until September 30 to extend the chance of local culinary talents for the cook fest competition.

A More Colorful Buglasan 2010 Festival is Coming

This year’s Buglasan Festival expects a more colorful pageantry by 11 towns and cities that have confirmed their participation in the two-week celebration.
Part of the opening salvo, the Pakol Festival of Sta. Catalina and last year’s festival winner will have a presentation 4 p.m. tomorrow at Robinsons Place, along with the Buglasan King and Queen.

Buglasan Festival 2010 Date Has Been Set Already

buglasan-festival-paradeBuglasan Festival 2010 has been set already to start on October 15,2010 with daily activities and programs until October 24, 2010.

As early as last month of July, preparations are underway for this year’s colorful Buglasan Festival with more than 50 events calendared for a two-week long celebration in October.

Negros Oriental Tourism Council (NOTC) Chair Nick Elman briefed Provincial Governor Agustin Perdices and tourism coordinators from different local government units (LGUs) in separate occasions the details of the activities and competition in the upcoming event.

Buglasan Festival

buglasan street dancingThe Buglasan Festival is celebrated every year during the centennial celebration of Negros Oriental as a province. This event showcases the different products, handicrafts, fresh produce, tradition, tourist spots and the people of each Negros Oriental town and city.  It was once celebrated one time in December but now the This event was once held in the month of December but was moved back to its original schedule in the month of October.
