DUMAGUETE CITY

Rizal Boulevard
Is a seafront boulevard that has become the most popular promenade and jogging track for the health-conscious people especially in the morning. It is also a commercial area of mostly bars and restaurants. And in the evening especially on fridays the boulevard comes alive.

Dumaguete Cathedral
Is one of the oldest stone church in the province.  This magnificent church was built in the early 1700’s

Cathedral Belfry
Is one of the oldest structures in Dumaguete City and was constructed in 1811. The Dumaguete Belfry was restored in 1985 and since then has become a very popular landmark. A garden now surrounds the tower and a grotto of the Virgin Mary stands erect near the base. Devotees flock daily to light a candle for their prayer requests or for confirmation of their faith.

CenTrop
The Center for Tropical Studies of Silliman University is a research facility of Silliman University where endemic trees grow together with endangered. It is a mini forest or zoo. This forest serves as a captive breeding ground for some of the country’s endangered and endemic species like the Visayan Spotted Deer that is only found in Negros and Panay, Philippine Brown Deer, Philippine Crocodile, Visayan Tarictic Hornbill, Negros Bleeding Heart Pigeon, Reticulated Pigeon, Visayan Warty Pig, Long Tailed Macaque, and Flying Fox (giant fruit bats). For years now, it has been making conservation efforts for the survival of these species.

Silliman University Marine Laboratory
Is located in a quiet seaside campus just a few kilometers north of the city’s business district. Here you can find not only giant clams and tropical fish being grown, but also crocodiles and the 2nd largest whale bone collection in Asia and other marine mammals.

Silliman Hall
This is the oldest building in the Silliman University campus. It was built in 1903 out of materials from an old theater in New York. Today, it houses the Silliman Anthropology Museum.

Benigno Aquino Freedom Park
Fronting the Capitol, the Benigno Aquino Freedom Park is a sprawling park with landscaped gardens and fountain.

Silliman University Campus
Declared as a bird sanctuary; noted for its olden trees, cottage residences, and major buildings which the Japanese occupation forces used for administrative and penal activities.

Channon Hall
Was the Kempetai or the torture chamber of the Japanese

Katipunan Hall
Was a Mission Hospital that was established in year 1915 by Dr. Langheim and his wife who was also a nurse. They were the pioneers of medical missionary work in Negros Oriental and now converted into classrooms and educational departments.

Provincial Capitol
Built in 1924, it houses the Office of the Governor and other provincial government offices

BACONG

Church and Pipe Organ
The church was built in the year 1886 and is declared as one of the National Cultural Treasures of the country and its century old Pipe Organ that came from Spain and was installed in the year 1894 and is one of the oldest church organs in the country

SIBULAN

Twin Lakes, Balinsasayao and Danao
The two lakes are surrounded by lush forest and green vegetation

Looc Memorial Shrine
Marks the site of the first WWII encounter in Negros Oriental on October 11, 1942

VALENCIA

Casaroro Waterfalls
Its a 100 feet narrow waterfalls and enclosed by land and green vegetation. Because it is enclosed you will feel the water mist as you get closer to the waterfalls.

Pulangbato Waterfalls
A waterfalls with high iron content, rusting the cliff in its path creating a two-toned waterfalls.

Banica Picnic Park / Tejeros
Two over flowing swimming pools that are fed by the river.

Mount Talinis
Dubbed “Cuernos de Negros” or Horns of Negros, this mountain can be reached through Valencia or Calungan, Bacong. It has five lakes in the vicinity. It is the object of mountain climbing enthusiasts. This is Negros Oriental’s eco-tourism centerpiece. The mountain stands 1,800 meters above sea level

Yagumyum and Nailig Lake
A half day trek up Mount Talinis in Valencia brings one to either one of the mirror clear lakes in the Mount Talinis area where one may camp, swim or catch carp, tilapia and other fish in the lake surrounded by trees

Fil-Am-Jap Amity Shrine
1,200 meters above sea level, the Philippine-American-Japanese shrine is located at Barangay Sagbang, Built in 1977 to commemorate the spot where a heated battle took place in World War Two, it stands as a three nation memorial to this conflict’s end.

Cata-al War Memorabilia
Relics of the WWII encounter in Negros Oriental include Japanese and American materials and personal effects, preserved as part of the private collection of the Cata-al family in Valencia

Apo Island Marine Sanctuary
Considered to be one of the best dive spots in the world. It is the home of more than two-thirds of the worlds known coral species. Because of the vastness of its marine resources, Apo island has been protected as a fish sanctuary since 1982

Niludhan Falls
Approximately 43 kilometers from the city proper, Niludhan Falls offers a lot of excitement especially to those who love adventures. The place does not only offer a refreshing, cool water for swimmers likewise, it also dares picnickers to scale its heights and do the bungee jump.

Lourdes Falls
Situated 20 kilometers from the city proper, Lourdes Falls never fails to earn the admiration of nature trekkers and picnickers. The enchanting falls has cascading crystal clear water that finds its way along multi-tiered levels that drop into a pool like basin, inviting you to take a dip to refresh and relax your tired body especially on hot summer days.

Palasanon Falls
Located approximately 30 kilometers from the City Proper, the ride to the location is an adventure one will hardly forget. Awaiting is the beautiful Palasanon Falls. The beauty will take your breath away and make a promise to go back to the place. A case of love at first sight.

Mag-aso Spring
Summer is never complete without the visit to Mag-aso Spring. The place is enchanting and will leave quiet impression on every visitor’s heart.

BASAY

Balatong Point
Also called Punta Tambungon by the locals, with rocks and large corals used as navigation landmarks. The biggest shipment of WWII ammunition for the Negros guerilla movement is said to have been unloaded here, now the favored dive site of many scuba enthusiasts

Talabong Mangrove Island
Through the island gingerly stepping on a bamboo boardwalk, it is home to wild ducks and other migratory birds, surrounded with mangroves on white sand

MABINAY

Mabinay Spring
Boasts of its crystal-clear & icy-cool waters, resembling a giant swimming pool, its natural habitat remained untouched for centuries.

Odloman Cave
The Philippines second longest cave which is 8,870 meters long, has a vertical range of 82 meters. It has large galleries, many small corridors, active streams and interesting obstacles.

Cayaso Cave
The ninth longest cave in the country measuring 2,222 meters long has a subterranean river flowing beneath its main chamber. It also has stalagmites and stalactites in its different chambers and has stones that glitter.

Panligawan Cave
The cave has a big gaping hole upfront and requires a descent. It is a short one but has a skylight in the middle.
